Gun laws: open carry, no permit required. One can get a CC permit for reciprocity with other states, if needed.
Property taxes can be high depending on the schools in a particular area.
Property rights: Respected and not to be messed with. FWIW, I saw a sign up there once that said something along the lines: “The biggest mistake you’ll ever make is coming down this road thinking that you’re gonna come back out of it alive.”
Southern part of the state (2st Congressional District) is overrun with rich massholes out of MA, NY, etc, and they have a RAT governor that doesn’t know anything exists much past Bangor because there ain’t much up there past that point to be concerned with. The 2nd Congressional District is pretty conservative.
