Reminds me of the last, and only, time I visited the DC zoo...
I once taught at an all black school in Jackson Ms. It’s was rough but okay until a girl fight spilled out into the hall and I stepped in between. One girl tried to punch past me at the girl and hit me, and since she was basically trying to climb me I hefted her up and threw her to the ground. She chipped her tooth.
She was immediately taken to juvie and I thought her momma would sue, but she was actually very contrite about her daughters behavior.
Per the above, the teacher who was assaulted was subbing for another teacher who normally had that class.

Harsh punishment, well advertised, and repeated often is the only thing that will stop this insanity.
