You guys said the same thing last summer about Izyum and Severodonetsk becoming a cauldron. Didn’t happen.

We claimed Kosovo deserved independence from Serbia. Why didn’t Donetsk and Lugansk deserve the same after we fomented an illegal coup and illegally installed a government that was intent on discriminating against the majority ethnic Russian population in those oblasts?

Severodonetsk is under Russian control and Izyum was before the Russians decided it wasn't worth defending.

How much do you want to bet the annexed territories remain part of Russia after this is all over?

You're delusional.

There is NO national interest in Ukraine. It's worth billions of more tax dollars or the lose of single American life. And, there is ZERO chance of Ukraine winning the war and taking back the annexed territory it has lost. That area is already been incorporated into the Russian Federation and its not going back nor do most of those there WANT to go back to Ukraine?

How much do you want to bet all of the annexed territory remains in Russian hands when this is all over?

We disagree fundamentally on “national interest”.

If Ukraine is incapable of taking back its territory, then why has it managed to take back so much territory? All of which, BTW, are nominally Russian speaking. Your assertion is unsupportable.

Nobody conducted an honest plebiscite in any of the territories claimed by Russia. Given the large population movements of refugees, etc, since, one could not conduct a plebiscite today.

There have, however, been honest elections in most of it prior to the Russian invasion of 2022.

There is no way to claim that this impasse is an honest difference of opinion.

Because Stalin put the Russians there to start with displacing Ukrainians. Both Belgrade and Putin invaded other countries and peoples to conquer or kill them, not to protect and defend them.
