Unfortunately you think like an honest man (fortunately IMO).
But never forget the criminal mind.
There is nothing stopping the donors from making themselves known surreptitiously or by an “oops”. We are much safer with mandated disclosure of donations and strict limits.

There is nothing stopping the donors from making themselves known surreptitiously or by an “oops”. Jail terms for participating parties in the bribery would minimize that. And part two should be TERM LIMITS. Don't let them stay around long enough to enrich themselves.
