I have EARNED my payback of SS and Medicare...
The law and numerous court decisions say different.
Basically, your payments into SS earned you an IOU from the next working generation. What happens if they decide different? They could!
Age-wise I’m essentially in the same boat as you. The difference might be my father who was an accountant by training and long long time Republican from a family of WV Republicans. (Tbe family joke back then was all the WV GOP could meet in our living room!) Not rich, my grandfather was a coal miner who owned a general store. Dad set me down in HS and went through the numbers on SS. In short he demonstrated what a fraud it was and FDR solved nothing with it.
