There was a less known folk style song by the Communist Party member Pete Seeger:
Waist Deep in the Big Muddy.
It was meant to be about the Big Fool Lyndon B. Johnson in Vietnam but today would be about Putin, Zelenskyy and Xi, and supporters.
(First stanzas were about platoon leader who said to keep going but died in wet mud.)
