Earlier on Friday, PJ Media’s Kevin Downey Jr. mused whether Nichols’ death would be “George Floyd 2.0,” and it appears that may be the case.
Naturally, the left is blaming “white supremacy,” even though the police officers who beat Nichols to death are also black.

Well, I’m not saying such doesn’t exist, but so far I have not seen any video of an actual riot. Granted that I don’t have time to go through hundreds or even tens of hours of video. But I’ve dropped in on Memphis TV stations online a couple times this evening, and the Interstate Highway protest / blockage seems to be the biggest story — but it has been peaceful so far. (Crossing fingers it stays that way.)
These “riots” are duds. All the live streamers are shutting down and going home.

If special rights and privileges and unequal law enforcement protections only go to certain groups, ethnicities or races and not to the others, it leads to chaos and anarchy. With the American Wild West or the 2001: A Space Odyssey scene of the pre-human fights with crude weapons. Among all groups.

There’s no riots. It’s like 50 out of towners and a few locals. Some socialism group from Atlanta.
I will say, I’m very glad that permitless carry is taking off like it has. I do suggest that anyone doing it take at least an NRA or other class by a professional trainer. Desantis is saying he wants it in FL after the next session. It’s interesting that Florida was one of the leaders on licensed carry but is pretty far behind on this next wave.
Afterward the officers were on video “coordinating” a “he was reaching for my gun” story, but, there’s just not any video evidence to back that up.
The cops all looked like they’ve been making far too many donut runs — after chasing Nichols and huffing and puffing, they may have really been in danger - of a heart attack.
Then as the beating went on, "reaching for a officer's gun", a lot of news sources are saying it doesn't look like body camera's back that up.

Anybody with a wide sheet printer could make those up with 30 minutes notice. Maybe an hour’s notice to go to a print shop.
I’ve yet to see anyone time-stamp for closer review a moment when Nichols is trying to go for an officer’s gun. It’d be horrible technique by the officers to give Nichols such a chance in the 1st place. Additionally, the officers were all hefty dudes and Nichols is, er, was, a slight guy with health problems. 4 on 1 or 5 on 1. Give me a break.
It looked to me like quite a few people were on the Interstate, blocking traffic, chanting, etc., but it certainly was not a “riot”.
