America's deeply divided Republican Party voted Friday to keep its Donald Trump-backed national committee chair in place, in an election seen as a test of the former president's sway.
The GOP has been in disarray since a predicted "red wave" failed to materialize in November elections, with the party eking out only a slim majority in the House, and failing to wrest control of the Senate from the Democrats.

I don’t think it’s accurate to say Trump “backed” McDaniel.
President Trump did not endorse anyone for RNC Chair. He was fine with each running. He just wants the RNC to get to work to stop the Democrat cheating.

Why are people opposed to McDaniel? Trump was fine with her and he is in the best position to know

He said he would be fine with either of the women candidates. I’m not sure why everybody is so down on McDaniel. If Trump thought she wasn’t cutting it, he’s not shy about telling it like it is. And he’s in the best position to know her value. Isn’t the job mainly about fundraising?

Yeah, I have no use for her. She is as bad as, if not worse than the disastrous Michael Steele.
I think he wisely stayed out of it.
Probably Mike Lindell would have fixed a bunch of problems but obviously they didn’t want out of their comfort zones...well off losers.
