I am trying to figure out how one opposes publicly-funded health care but supports govt schools.
Govt schooling is arguably the #1 reason why the Republic is circling the toilet. It is right up there with the Pulpit being silent on cultural/social issues.
If I had a nickel for every conservative I’ve heard lament how public schooling turned their children into leftists, I’d be a wealthy man.
There are NO excuses left to put one’s children in govt schools. None.
You are mixing apples and oranges. Federal funding/control versus local funding/control’
Local funding of schools is deeply rooted in our history. The first public school was in the 1600’s.
