Percentage of auto accidents (nationwide) that DON'T include injury or death: 57%. Add to that mix that a lot of hit and run accidents involve people hitting parked (unoccupied) vehicles.
I have a friend in Denver. He has a part-time job about 6 nights a month. His drive home from work happens around 1-2AM. He's been an uninjured hit and run accident victim 3 times in the last 4 years. None of the drivers had insurance. All were Hispanic. Fortunately, he had collision coverage but consider the hassle and loss of vehicle (a big, heavily loaded van) so an extra car doesn't help while the van gets fixed. In one case the van was totaled. The joys of city driving.
NO better on rural roads...they are driving even faster.
