It is always wise to seek negotiations. You just never know what may turn up. However, when huge amounts of wealth and war material are being sent, who cares a hoot about all the death and destruction and destroyed lives.

“Negotiations” conducted in public are normally just dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s on basic agreements arrived at prior.
Its obvious the Russians have not yet, through other channels, made Ukraine an acceptable offer.
