Don’t pay your taxes and tell me if you still own your own home.
On that note. I wish every service would be fee based. If you want the fire department to respond to your home, pay them. If you want the police to respond to your home, pay them.
You don’t feel the need for either, don’t pay them. If your house goes up in flames or is broke into, you’re on your own.
If you want homeowners insurance, I’m betting that the insurers will mandate you get the services. Your decision.
As for schools, the minute your kid graduates, school taxes decrease every year by 10%. After 10 years, no kids in school, no school taxes.

Have paid out 89 years of property taxes.
