As I understand it, a revolver is not a “semiautomatic” firearm, but rather a “repeating” firearm.

If they can call every black tube an AR-15, we can call revolvers Semi-Automatic.

I know that is what lever action rifles are called.

I was basing this off my own experience. I have a revolver that holds 8 rounds. I have a pistol that holds 8 rounds. If they are both loaded, I can simply pull the trigger 8 times to shoot eight rounds each. There is no separate “cocking or loading” action required (as there would be a lever rifle or single action revolver.)

I understand the technicality..but it walks like a duck and quacks like (a loud) duck.
