RE: VP doesn’t mean squat.
In the excellent 1960 movie Advise and Consent, the VP says something like: In America being Vice President isn’t actually illegal but they make you act like it is.
Note:
Of the 15 vice presidents who went on to become president, eight succeeded to the office on the death of a president, and four were later elected president.
