BERLIN, Jan 24 (Reuters) - German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has decided to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and allow other countries such as Poland to do so while the U.S. may supply Abrams tanks, magazine Spiegel reported on Tuesday. A government spokesperson declined to comment. The defence ministry was not immediately available for comment. The decision concerns at least one company of Leopard 2 A6 tanks that will be provided out of Bundeswehr stocks, Spiegel said.

That is the Biden Worshipers wet dream come true! Actually it is the Neo Con’s wet dream come true but they married and joined forces with the Biden Worshipers.
Yeah, sure they have. American aircraft are nothing like Soviet frames. And two big glaring problems. Where did they base? Where do they takeoff and land? Because if it’s in Ukraine, that place is going to get annihilated with cruise missiles. If it’s in Poland, that’s NATO attacking Russian forces. And then the few that manage to make it to the air are in S400 range anywhere in the battle areas…
Ukraine still flies mig 29’s, su27’s, su25’s and a bunch of choppers that according to the Russian MO counts have been annihilated many times over since February 24.
Both sides have managed to create air denial zones with SAMs. Ukraine even managed with western help to integrate the HARM missile into their 29’s. They will do so much more with HARMs on their native F16 platforms.
So we’ll have Uke tankers trained up to run and maintian Leopards, M1s and eastern block tanks and systems all at the same time,with all their distinctive parts, ammo, fluids.

They should have no problems - until the very first day they try to actually use anything they’re sent.
Although there are tanks with higher top speeds, the Abrams accelerates quickly and is able to dart from location to location, thanks to that gas turbine engine. That is the kind of performance that puts it above other tanks.
And as far as having drivers, they had about 95 fighter and attack aircraft at the beginning of the war. Also 50 MI24 attack helicopters. Why do you think putting the same guys in F-16s would make any difference?
Who survived the destruction of their planes?
Who knows? Assuming some of them were destroyed on the ground? All I know is that there’s not swarms of Ukrainian Air Force planes up and down the front.

Let’s take for example just A2A. Much better situational awareness, an ability to reach out and touch the enemy much further away, an ability to attack multiple targets and more!
Just curious, how long does it take to learn to effectively fly the F-16 and A-10 in in combat ???
Does Ukraine have any current pilots trained to fly either plane ??
The point being, by the time Ukraine trains and equips pilots to fly either plane, the war might be over by then.
Interesting timing for this announcement plus the corruption purge......really need to force him to a ceasefire tho!

The logistical tail and maintenance infrastructure are enormous. Yes, they’re the best tank in the world...but it takes a highly skilled and capable team to put them in the field.
3 gallons per mile in fuel alone...which dedicates at least 1 fuel truck per tank in a small arena(150 mile radius/1,000 gallons). And make sure you don’t suck up any dirt.
The Leopard and the Abrams use the same 120mm ammo.

The M1s are mostly a political fig leaf to get the Germans to allow Leopard exports from a dozen or more countries. Ukraine will now build out US Army standard mechanized units.
