I live in Washington state, even though mostly blue we do have ‘shall issue’ conceal/carry licensing. This is a heavy red part of the state.

Actually, WA State has very lenient carry laws. I've had a CPL (concealed pistol license) here for over 30 years. I just renewed it again today. Shall issue. No training required. No references needed. Open carry is also legal. It wasn't until recently this state turned blue and is now going to hell in a handbasket.
