“A gun is basically a metal tube”
I’ve seen references to “semi-automatic handguns” or pistols. Is there any handgun that’s not semi-automatic aside from antiques?
I remember back in 1960s when the news media and lib politicians considered the most “evil” firearm to the the 5 or 6 shot .22 or .25 cal “Saturday Night Special” and ranted against them till they got foreign ones banned.

They then tried to get US made firearms banned if they were $45 in 1970. That would include the 5 shot Charter Arms revolver and the Mark II Ruger.
I think revolvers are not considered semiautos. There are also single-shot handguns like the Thompson Contender and the Remington XP-100, both of which fire rifle cartridges.
