When did winter storms starm getting named and how do we make it stop? Hurricanes are named because they are relatively localized and destructive weather systems. A location might get hit by the dangerous part once every couple decades. Snow is common, widespread and generally a nuisance rather than a killer requiring shelter. It's just snow and I could be hit by a storm a dozen times in a year.
I was always worried they would run out of names to impart on weather patterns that cause nothing worse than a gentle breeze, until I realized they could just make up names like “Trayvashena” or “Keondrecke”.
Heck, they probably already have a Name Generator”
