Agreed. Tanks means tank battalions, i.e. ground troops. Then they’ll need air support and refueling. Then logistics, including possible aid stations, etc.

At which point, the war hawks will start talking about the need to put U.S. troops on the ground.

I suspect Ukrainians can maintain the tanks. The typical Ukrainian soldier is probably more intelligent than the woke folk Biden is enlisting nowadays.

Just like the other 'high tech' U.S. weapons sent to Ukraine, the U.S. will probably set up a maintenance depot next door in Poland to service the vehicles.
