Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), which serves about 5.9 million households and businesses, warned customers to expect “shockingly high” January bills that could be 128 percent higher compared to December.

Those who typically paid around $65 a month last winter are likely to pay about $160 this year, SoCalGas said in a statement Dec. 29. Those with bills around $130 a month could see charges jump to $315.

$160/$65 is 146% higher. $315/$130 is 142% higher.

Neighbors got their gas bills this week. There has been much shock and swearing.

A relative of mine who lives in a desert area (gets very cold and snows in Winter) said gas bill that was under $100 last month is over $500 for this month.

And the scum that are doing this, will probably have more blood on their hands before it starts getting warmer.

What are seniors and others on fixed incomes going to do?- Probably not turn on the heat and end up freezing to death. 😡
