Where are all the “conservationists” screaming about this?
150 million acres is almost 1,600 SQUARE MILES. That’s a square 40 MILES on a side.
Then you need all the power lines to connect and concentrate the power and move it to transmission lines. Plus thousands of miles of dirt access roads for maintenance.
Of course, you need backup batteries (which don’t exist at this scale) and backup natural gas fired turbines for night and cloudy days.
You get 0.35 or less MW/acre. Ground cover ratios are 40% to 50%. You get 400-500 MW-hours per year per acre.
Those numbers are terrible and it only works with massive subsidies.
All to fuel immigration.
We will have to make America an industrial wasteland to accept the endless population importation the left desires.
America had all the population it needed in 1970, and a very nice balance of nature to population.
I don’t believe your math is correct. There are 640 acres to a square mile. 100 million acres is 156250 square miles. that is a square that is 395 miles on a side. That makes me think that there is something wrong with the initial article. Something is off by a factor of 1000.
A fully automatic .22LR would use a lot of magazines putting holes in those solar panels! Helicopter assault!
A typical auto plant will consume approx. several hundred thousand megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity per year.
I think a wind turbine produces 1 GWH of elec. per year which means it would take at least 200 turbines to keep an auto plant running.
Neither solar nor wind is viable.....
