On Monday, January 16, 2023, Industry day at the range started with cool temperatures, gusty wind, and rain showers.

It was the worst condition at the range day since 2019. The day gives media and industry insiders a chance to look at new products at the range, shoot new guns, ammunition, and accessories, and talk with industry representatives as they showcase their products.

Pre checking the weather forecast, this correspondent was prepared with warm, weather-resistant clothes, high-tech hunting pants, work boots, and layered wind and water-resistant jacket with a fleece underneath.

Some new products caught the eye, out of dozens of booths. Ear and eye protection were mandatory. RIA (Rock Island Armory, USA) has a new semi-auto 9mm, mostly handmade, with an innovative locking system. The RIA 50 is made entirely in the USA at the new manufacturing plant in Utah.

Kel-Tec will soon be offering a slide that is optics capable for their popular P17 .22 LR pistol. It is an option this correspondent thought a natural for years. To lighten the slide to accept the optic, KELTEC is laser cut into the slide. The slide is easily replaced on existing Kel Tec P17 pistols for those who have desired an optical sight on the popular little pistol.

The new product is likely to be a hit. Kel-Tec P17 pistols have been hard to come by for three years.

The Industry Day at the Range of The SHOT Show had plenty of interesting innovation on display, in spite of a cool, rainy, windy day.

and how much does this cost? The people I know who need to arm up and fort up simply do not have the money to do much. A man such as my cousin, who I financially help, who is a non woke, straight , Christian whiteman is hard pressed working 60 hrs a week to pay expenses and keep working on the house he and his family live in. Wealthy people who like to make loud about the current sinister situation need to provide dollars and not words to struggling non wokes to enable them to minimally be able to protect home and family.

The RIA 50 is made entirely in the USA at the new manufacturing plant in Utah.

The RIA 50 is a top end product, meant to compete with items costing twice as much. It runs about a thousand dollars, with a low end version about $750, I was told.

But, RIA makes its bread and butter with economy products.

The make the cheapest bolt action .22 which comes with a threaded barrel.

I saw one on sale (retail) for $139.95 a few weeks ago at Cal.Ranch. I purchased my first one (with wood stock) a few years earlier, on sale for about a hundred bucks. Everyone should have a .22 capable of being easily suppressed. Hence, you need the threaded barrel. Buying one with a threaded barrel is cheaper than doing the threading yourself, in time, tooling, and energy. I prefer their latest roll out, which has a composite stock. It runs about $150.

The 14Y is a marvelous little .22. Wait for a sale, then get one while you can.

What a strange post. Beretta has an SAO 92, a new Cheetah, and a new A300 semi-auto shotgun; Glock has new gen5 45 and 10mm and a performance trigger; S&W has a new 5.7mm; not to mention Henry, Holosun, and many others.

... and this excerpt is about a 9mm and a Kel-Tec. OK!
