The people at Davis are the “genuime” 1%. The already own everything. They are already in charge of everything. And the only thing that is preventing them from establishing Utopia is the other 99%. That means you and me. They already consider themselves superior and the rightful heirs to this world. The new global aristocracy.

My guess is they’ve woven a dash of neo-Calvinism into their Gaia/Satanistic/whatever, global/cosmo religion, so by their being rich and powerful is enough indication to them that God desires them to be all-rich and all-powerful.
That and the divine right of kings.
