And any actor or actress who has a gun placed in their hands, be it real of *fake*, should be well versed and trained in proper gun safety. Check the gun and clear it before anything else, don’t point it at anything you don’t intend to shoot, finger off the trigger.
There is no excuse for anyone being handed a gun for not knowing how to responsibility handle it while it is in their posession.
My understanding is that a standard safety check involves checking barrels and chambers and firing the gun into a target or ground until you have fired off all the chambers or a full magazine to ensure the gun is empty before you start to play with it.
