Here’s the common sense test to see if armed force is required.
If someone was stealing gov’t property would the gov’t be allowed to shoot that person? If so then it shouldn’t be a crime for the average citizen.

Not sure if that is a good test since:
- If you are an Antifa freak throwing a firebomb at a Federal Building in Portland, all is OK . . . but
- If you are a patriot climbing through a broken window in the Capitol Building, you can be shot in the back and killed with zero consequence to the LEO.
