I remember while stationed at Patrick AFB in Florida overseeing the Cape and the Eastern Test Range it was not unusual to hear of Russian “fishing vessels” just outside territorial limits that had a lot of antennas for a fishing boat that never seemed to catch any fish. Everyone knew they were gathering intel, the same way we did to them.

Everyone knew they were gathering intel, the same way we did to them.

When I was in the CG traveling up and down the coast we would see the Russian vessels you speak of, yes, lots and lots of antennas with volleyball on deck but no fishing gear:)

We would circle them, take some photos, and move on so we could actually use our radios again due to a LOT of frequency interference.
