This is what happens when all your hires are based upon which diversity box they check. I’m sure my husband could get those lights off within 30 minutes of walking into the building. Within a couple of hours, he could install a temporary fix that would allow an override of whatever system is currently in place so that anyone could turn the lights on or off with a flip of a switch.
This cutting edge (at the time) “green” technology was installed to save money and energy but has ended up costing them more than a simple tried and true system would to operate. Evidently, there was no redundancy built into this system as well. Not to mention the amount of money to repair or replace the original lighting system is probably greater than the original cost.
