I have no idea of the validity of this article, I will say if it’s safe to use chicken, cow and other animal manure in fertilizers why wouldn’t it be safe to use human excrement ??

Properly treated it is safe. The Inca used it for thousands of years with great success. They were histories absolute best at sustainable agriculture.

Untreated, it will contain various pathogens. Properly treated (sterilized) it's definitely safe for use as lawn fertilizer.

Fresh or partially decomposed human manure would be risky. Having it totally breakdown and aged with composting would be the way to go.

You get human manure from sewage systems, where lots of other stuff, including toxic chemicals, gets tossed.

Same reason it’s not safe to use dog poop -— most humans are meat eaters, so it rots in a more stinky way. Now if we were all vegans... (Apparently, bugs don’t count.)

Because human pathogens spread easily through, you guessed it, human feces.

That’s one reason why diseases run wild in Asia because they use crap to fertilize their rice paddies.
My Pop was in Korea was saw this first hand.
