And it seems that the Ukrainians are doing a fine job with keeping up a no fly zone on their own.

But if the US mobilized for this war, it would not be a “no fly zone”, it would be a hundred “highways of death”.

Aircraft over the battlefield is the point of having aircraft. There is no substitute. The USAF has been designing these things for just that, to this day.
