Vibrating membrane.. not solid state.
It’s a flat lung. Not revolutionary.
Now a tubular peltier... we’re talking real advancement.

Certainly seems like a huge advance over a blower for low current, miniaturized, active heat transfer. What is MTBF? I didn’t catch that. Certainly better than fans with cheap bearings.

“…the 2.8mm chip has cavities in the top full of vibrating membranes,…”
Sounds like moving parts to me…

Vibrating elements have been produced in MEMS for a long time but they’ve typically been aimed at micro motors or something that produces force. This is quite clever in that it only requires movement of air molecules and uses a large number of elements working in parallel to do that. It’s kind of the reverse of a MEMS microphone where air vibrations produce an electrical output in a piezo element.

If they would put a geranium diode in there it would double in capacity.

A high-pitched whine to bother men and dogs, or too high for both to hear?

Air jet?
If it's anything like the Bed Jet, that thing is invaluable!
Hehehe, No kidding, that Bed Jet is the best thing that happened to sleep since the Sleep Number bed.
And no, I do NOT work for 'em...
