I’m starting to understand the way you think.
I say that because I’m a deeply old-fashioned Reagan conservative myself. I was raised according to conservative Christian values. For my family the Soviet Union or Russia its about the same thing, they are operating according to traditional Soviet anti-American algorithms.
I despise the Democrats socialist agenda just as much as you do, and I agree with what you said. They brought the living hell on us : Wokeism, racial war, LGBT absolutism, CRT, burning cities, vandalism, crime waves, the Russia Hoax about Trumps 2016 election (Russia had nothing to do with it), the Covid 19 tyranny, the Dems / big tech / FBI collusion that stole Trump’s Re-Election, the Hunter Biden scandal they put a lid on, and all those “journalists” and media-outlets acting in reality as political institutions for the Democrats, the pro illegal immigration policies, etc, etc,... So yes, we indeed agree that Democrats are attempting to transform America into a madhouse.
However, supporting of the sovereign Ukrainian people against a vicious Soviet-style Russian invasion is a different thing. To me our Christian values are at stake here. This war shouldn’t be politicized as either a Democrat or a Republican thing.
Russia is committing permanent anti-American actions behind our backs, fomenting anti American sentiment all over the planet in an attempt to isolate America and take over our traditional vital business partners. They are starting to succeed. If Russia wins in Ukraine its power would become immense.
Russia’s attack on Ukraine is in reality and foremost a move to diminish the West.
If we let that happen Russias imperialistic expansion will continue in a boosted way.
It will inspire China to invade Taiwan - further isolating America. The domino effect would wreck havoc in Americas economy which can’t function without strong free International nations we are doing business with. We NEED that business, we have so much to sell. America is full of oil, let’s drill and sell it. Let’s become the world’s number one net exporter of oil. But again, we need our international allies for that, our clients. They will buy our oil. Europe is by the way buying from America now - excellent. Allies sticking together against our common competitors and enemies is the only way to go.

Of course not. The thing is, there may be exceptional times where Democrat and Republican policies actually happen to coincide.
Preventing Russias renewed appetite for land-grabbing is something we don’t have the luxury to ignore.
It’s not only moral to help now, but Americas economy depend on our allies freedom. Giving them the capacity to continue doing business with us.

Democrats have mostly outlawed smoking (except weed) and are trying to outlaw beef. So, yes, these are two good examples that one can set their moral compass to simply be opposite of the Democrats.
As far as Ukraine, I know that I’m being played by the Democrats and the Media, as it’s happened throughout my life, be it Kosovo, Syria, Egypt, Vietnam - but THIS TIME, I can finally reach other sources, and so i know it’s yet another repeat of being lied to. So, like most of the world (other than the West), I tune out the Western Media, and ONLY THEN make my call. And this black and white crap that the Western Media is serving up turns much more gray, to say the least.
