What should you wear to work if you’re nonbinary?
It may not be the most pressing question that gender-nonconforming people face on the job, but with approximately 1.2 million LGBTQ+ Americans identifying as nonbinary, employers and employees alike are exploring what professional attire can look like.
“I think people treat me with more dignity when I dress more masculinely, but people are way nicer to me when I dress more femininely,” said El Layla Johnson, 33, a former restaurant server who is now a therapist.
For Johnson, getting dressed for work has been a struggle since adolescence.
“I just feel like there’s a manual or rule book that people receive and that my copy got lost in the mail,” Johnson said.
Johnson recalled regularly crying while getting dressed for work at an upscale restaurant in Seattle. It wasn’t just that they found the restaurant’s dress code to be ugly. Johnson had a hard time finding clothes that fit at all.

We’re supposed to have another sunny day after this one, but the gal that drove me to church yesterday said this year has had the most rainfall than in the last 30 years. Couldn’t prove it by me! I just know it’s wet enough to do a job to these old joints, and I don’t like it!
But COVID isn’t actually a word, is it? I thought it was an acronym, and you know the flak they got with the last acronym they used!
I always get antsy if I go more than four lines in solving the puzzle. Probably because I solve so many other word games. Especially on Mondays! ;o]

James got their room cleaned up sufficiently to get their peripherals back. The others have cleaned up the clothes, but can’t have the computers back yet.
Perhaps the others will want to be like James. Or not.
The bed is made, and I just turned on the mattress pad, so I’m looking forward to a warm clean bed again.
I thought “Balthazar” ended at the end of the third season, but it’s got two more seasons, so I’m watching it again. He’s funny and charming and has a wicked sense of humor, so it’s a fun show to watch. For me, anyway. Acorn, if you have it. I don’t watch a lot of shows on Acorn because of the foul language on most of them. On Balthazar, it happens but very seldom.
So now I don’t have to re-watch Vera. Though I probably will at some point. Just not the near future.

Sometimes the image gives me an idea that’s funnier in my mind than in the image. Just thinking about what would cause a little dog to run after a rhino like that cracks me up.
It’s like the joke: Why don’t blind people skydive? It scares the dogs.
It just cracks me up to think that ANYONE would consider taking a seeing-eye dog skydiving.

Maybe. It’s getting very tedious waiting for Tom to move out. Only a few more days, but gaaaaaah, they’re going to be endless days if he doesn’t go back to work soon. Things were still too wet for construction today.
On the plus side, my squash seeds have germinated, also beets and beans, but not the darn carrots. Those were loser seeds!
Too bad it’s so wet. Time really drags when we’re faced with a task we don’t like or a situation we’re fed up with. Hang in there! Your house will be one offspring less before you know it and you’ll be able to breathe again.

The carrots were a failure last year, too, but I thought the seeds might do better this year. Not so far!

I’m supposed to go to Kroger with Pam this morning, and I would beg off but for prescriptions. And the crackers I can’t get at Walmart.
She wants to take me to breakfast and that means she wants to pick my brains again. I hate that, and I have a tendency to retreat inside myself when I feel someone is getting too close. I mean, if I were going to stay here, it may be something good, but I feel she uses it. She’s much more subtle than PW, but still, I recognize when my own words are tossed back at me. So no, I’m not looking forward to breakfast with her.
I’m sorry, ArGee, but I LOL’d at the “double score!”
I’d better be on my toes then.
