What should you wear to work if you’re nonbinary?
It may not be the most pressing question that gender-nonconforming people face on the job, but with approximately 1.2 million LGBTQ+ Americans identifying as nonbinary, employers and employees alike are exploring what professional attire can look like.
“I think people treat me with more dignity when I dress more masculinely, but people are way nicer to me when I dress more femininely,” said El Layla Johnson, 33, a former restaurant server who is now a therapist.
For Johnson, getting dressed for work has been a struggle since adolescence.
“I just feel like there’s a manual or rule book that people receive and that my copy got lost in the mail,” Johnson said.
Johnson recalled regularly crying while getting dressed for work at an upscale restaurant in Seattle. It wasn’t just that they found the restaurant’s dress code to be ugly. Johnson had a hard time finding clothes that fit at all.

Good Saturday Morning!
Another cloudy day on tap... I can’t recall it ever being so cloudy and dreary for such a prolonged period... it is like the sun is ‘on strike’ or something...
Hoping that folks have a better go at the Wordle this morning than mine...

(In the golf analog, I Bogeyed the 10th hole, and am now 4 over for the round...)
Good morning. It’s raining here. The cats blame me.
Kitteh will be a big ol’ cat from the length of those whiskers!
Good morning. I hope you had a good night, and that Jake was no bother. It was probably him who rang my doorbell.
More rain today. And tomorrow. Then sunny on Sunday, then more rain. I live in the land of the Yo-Yo Weather.
Nothing is planned for today except to have FS and PW come and take my stuff to Goodwill. Which I added some things to the other day. Not much, but it may help in the long run.
Good job, Zz! You’re still with us!
(Maybe, if you do the golf lingo translation often enough, I may come to understand the game.)
I just woke up so it will be a bit before I work on my own grid.
Good morning. Jake was around, but not too obnoxious. We have choir in a few minutes, and then I’ll figure out the rest of the day. Kathleen needs to get a birthday gift for a boy from Cub Scouts; his party is tomorrow.
It’s raining here, too.
I figure that I will place the golf analog below the grid, so any that want to, can easily ignore it...
If you’ve never tried it, tune in to a golf tournament on the television some Sunday afternoon... you’ll get the hang of what they are talking about fairly quickly, and it is a very relaxing game to watch on television...
I personally enjoy Jim Nantz’s coverage with CBS...

Thanks!
I appreciate that. :o])
So far that’s all that’s planned — the Goodwill stuff. But I have to qualify that. PW is still asleep, so FS doesn’t know what the plans are. It’s terrible to be married to a control freak who plans your every move for you and throws a tantrum when you don’t comply.
While I was sorting through stuff, I came across a couple of projects from when I was still in Henderson and will finish them before deciding what to do with them. They’re no good unless they’re put together, and if I’m going to free up space, I want to do it right. Not free it up in one spot and add to it in another.
I have a sweater that needs to be assembled (made about the same time as when your Parish had its auction years ago and I sent you a bunch of stuff for it,) and I think it’s about two or three sizes too large for me, now. I was still in the studio apartment in the complex where Charlie lives and hadn’t moved into the one-bedroom. So yeah, I need to finish things and get them donated.
Before I do anything else, I need to go find some straight pins!
The rain hasn’t stopped the starlings. I can hear them in the trees half a block from here, singin’ in the rain!
That sounds like me: Before I do this, I need to do that, before I do that, I need to do this other thing, before I do this other thing, I need to find the whatsis, before I find the whatsis, I need to sort a load of laundry ... and before you know it, it’s bedtime again.
Cats assume that we control the weather because we have opposable thumbs to turn the dials. At least, that’s what Shannon told me.
She’s sitting around hating now, waiting for Tom the Son to start playing a computer game. The vibrations make her feel secure or something.
There is an entire laundry list of things that happened to me on my way to do one. simple. thing.
And here it is, 1000 CDT and nothing is done. Well, the pills and breakfast and getting dressed, but nothing else.
No word from FS. FD was on Facebook earlier, but she isn’t now, and hasn’t sent me a text, either. She’ll probably do it tonight, when I’m just dropping off to sleep.
Happy Caturday, Wordle Fans!
I hope your day is filled with good things!
Here’s today’s effort. The rain has slowed me down, I think, but still — it was a good game.

We might have changes to our music plans for tomorrow. I don’t love changes ...
Cartoon theater of the mind:
Looking out a shoe store window, two clerks see a large hairy monster approaching the door.
One clerk turns to the other and says,
“We’re going to need a bigger boot!”
Changes are harder for some people than others. I especially don’t like “last-minute” changes in anything, so I get it.
FS and PW came and got the stuff. Two more boxes and some other things are gone, so I have room to stack up more things for donation! YAY!
Does the monster have only one foot?
I’m glad you got some things cleared out. We did a little shopping. It’s a gloomy day, but not really cold, and not bucketing down rain. Tomorrow is supposed to be better.
I’ll never go to the garden without a shotgun again.
