Ukraine braces for fresh Russian mobilization in spring amid battle over Bakhmut, Soledar

by Ukrainian officials as a harbinger of a renewed Russian attempt to seize ground in Ukraine. The new assault is expected to focus on the south and southeast of the country – territories that Russian President Vladimir Putin claims to have annexed to the Russian Federation – although a renewed effort to capture Kyiv could also be part of the plan.

A senior Ukrainian security official told The Globe and Mail that Russia’s larger army, and its larger pool of potential conscripts, means the invaders could continue to press forward in the eastern Donbas region – where much of the Ukrainian military is engaged in a bloody battle over the city of Bakhmut and the nearby town of Soledar – while simultaneously building up another force for a new assault.

“They have bigger potential in manpower, so they can use troops daily, conducting this offensive operation, and keep armies in reserve to prepare this much bigger offensive operation,” said the official, whom The Globe is not identifying because he was not authorized to publicly discuss military strategy.

He said that, in addition to the estimated 200,000 Russian conscripts who have been mobilized in recent months but have not yet been deployed into Ukraine, regular army units were moving west from their usual positions in Russia’s Far East. Among them is the powerful 36th Combined Arms Army, which is normally stationed near Lake Baikal in Siberia.

What is your preferred scenario? Would you hand over just Ukraine to Russia or Poland too?

I’d give ‘em everything east of Germany and the Baltics too.

The US has no real interests in any of them.

It’s a purely political construct, outside any real interests.

And it’s just plain stupid to fight over something that means nothing.

America First.

Nothing can help the Ukies at this point, they are spent, a begging welfare nation, dependent on the collective West for existence. 28 T55’s here, a dozen Challengers there, throw in older Bradley’s and all of the EU’s retired equipment. All this does is postpone the inevitable and insure maximum loss of life.

The Ukies are waking up and beginning to wonder if the West’s stated goal of
Using the Ukies “ down to the last Ukrainian “ makes any sense.

If Zelensky is not deposed politically, or resigns, returning Eastern front military personnel may just “ remove” him, permanently. Watch how quick negotiations will occur once the corrupted, little beggar is no more.

Do not confuse negotiations with surrender, Ukraine under Zelensky’s rule has absolutely destroyed them in less than a year.

“what national interest do we have with Germany france Luxembourg Sweden Finland Switzerland”

Don’t forget Italy, Austria and Spain/Portugal...Denmark...Netherlands...

We conduct hundreds of billions $ trade with those western European countries.

Western Europe is an embedded trading parter, sharing all the same protocols, institutions, rules...and legal audit.

If we never traded anything with the countries of Eastern Europe we would not notice or miss it.

Currently they are a macroeconomic parasite when the cost of security is considered.

You must also consider the investments that are being made to convert them to “integrated members” of the Western Borg. That’s all done with government loans, ultimately backed by the Full Faith and Credit of the US Government treasuries.

Therefore, ultimately, the US military.

Now let’s add the cost of potential nuclear warfare. Even the risk has a cost.

Realpolitik

"What is your preferred scenario? Would you hand over just Ukraine to Russia or Poland too?"

I would prefer that the American government would reduce taxes, improve American infrastructure, and stop enslaving us to support its empire.

Secondly, equating Poland with the Ukraine is another fallacy because Poland is a member of NATO and not a criminal cesspool like the Ukraine which is a breakaway province of Russia with a 240 year history being part of Russia.
