For employees who are privy to sensitive data, we walk them out the door immediately and box their stuff and send it to them.

I already emptied my company office months ago. Not that I am expecting to be downsized but there is no reason to make ones self at home at a company.

That was always my philosophy, too. No family photos, no mementos, no bric-a-brac, not decorations, no diplomas on the wall - nothing but a straight, no-nonsense business environment. Maybe a couple of personal text books, but nothing else. It made leaving a company a simple, fast process.
I never understood people who wanted to make their office or cubicle as cozy as their den at home.
The employees were reportedly axed via meetings and phone calls, with their office badges deactivated as they were escorted out of the buildings.
I also made my office a hoteling area for my team. First come, first serve. They liked that since it is a nice big desk with big screens and a door.
At-will-employment in the US. Fully support it. In Europe companies have trouble firing people, leading to enormous inefficiencies.
