Now she loves our electric stove. About the time I told her I was ready to switch it to gas, our gas bills started shooting up, as did our power bills. I told her we could either switch to gas cooking like I promised, our I could do the math and build a strategy to make our house all-electric and install enough solar so that our energy costs will be less than what they were in 2019 (thus getting rid of what's now the past 4 years' worth of energy inflation). She chose financial security over cooking with gas. And she hasn't regretted it.
She now loves cooking with power because to her it's part of our retirement financial planning not being torn apart by the communist Dims' control-freak energy polices. Some of our peers talk about going back to work or working longer before retirement in large part to help pay the sky high power bills, natural gas bills, and cost for gas at the pump.
It sounds like you didn’t make, then break, a promise.
Nice that everyone is happy.
