As we've all learned this week, multiple news reports allege that President Biden's personal attorneys discovered Obama administration-era classified materials among his belongings at a private office, where they undoubtedly do not belong. The items were handed over to the National Archives shortly after they were allegedly uncovered in a closet during the process of packing up the space. Biden's Attorney General has referred the matter to the US Attorney in Chicago for additional scrutiny, as this episode very much appears to involve improper handling of classified information and potential unlawful conduct. "The review is considered a preliminary step, and the attorney general will determine whether further investigation is necessary, including potentially appointing a special counsel," CBS News reports.
"The Presidential Records Act requires all presidential and vice-presidential documents be turned over to the National Archives. There are special protocols to keep classified information secure." Clearly, those requirements were not followed, and those protocols were not in place, on these documents.
Given the furor over last year's classified documents scandal involving former President Trump, and the heavily-covered raid at Trump's Florida residence, this story amounts to both a legal concern for Biden, as well as an awkward political moment for Trump critics -- Biden included -- who leaned heavily into that controversy. It's true that there are meaningful differences between the Trump episode and this emerging issue. But it doesn't really matter which one might be 'better' or 'worse' than the other if both involved legally-problematic mishandling of sensitive secrets. Based on current knowledge, the facts in Trump's case are relatively 'worse,' but that has no bearing on potential misconduct or illegal conduct from Biden. On one hand, Trump had far more documents, improperly keeping some even after a protracted battle with the National Archives, which came knocking after noticing missing items. Biden's team was apparently more proactive and cooperative after learning about their problem -- if their account is accurate.

There is no telling how many top secret documents were squirreled away. It is probably a case of making a big production of telling a small truth in order to hide a big lie.
The answer to any question is that he is a democrat and is therefore exempt from all laws. Anybody who questions it is obviously a traitor and deserves to be immediately destroyed.
End of discussion.
My first question: when are his half dozen personal residences gonna be raided by an FBI SWAT team?
No. There weren’t any questions about what Trump had, they just busted in there with guns drawn and cameras rolling. Either do the same to Biden or get ready for serious backlash. F the FBI. I will not abide a selective government.
What does it matter?
Foreign intelligence agencies know all the US secrets anyway, just like we know all their secrets.
So who are they hiding from except the voters?
Declassify everything, who cares.
Let corruption reign supreme!
“...Classified Materials Scandal...”
Nothing there, says the corrupt DNC-Media.
Bannon was saying these were SCI that should be in a SCIF.
I bet you anything they’re records of Hunter’s improprieties.
I watched the spin on this on the evening news. And the main point made was that Trump did not return documents when requested. And this is what the average American will believe irregardless of the facts. Right or wrong people who are busy living their lives won’t take the time to research what actually happened, what the time lines were, what legal issues were involved, and so on. And thus we get a voting population that votes based on party or that’s how Grandpa voted.
And if anyone doesn’t think that’s what politicians count on I’ve got some ocean front property in Tucson for sale. Just send me your checking acct. transfer information and I will transfer the property deed to you...:)
“Biden’s team was apparently more proactive and cooperative after learning about their problem — if their account is accurate.”
VP Biden’s records recovered after 6 (six) years, 72+ months, as opposed to 6 MONTHS timeframe for President Trump; AND, a president controls secure documents, a vice-president DOES NOT.
The documents were in a facility funded by large donations from the Chinese Communist Party.
This is a FACT.
Many of us were trying to decipher how/where Biden got all of his newfound wealth after being the VP.
This is probably the answer because there is little transparency for how much money came in, what they did with it, and where it went.
This does not just involve Biden. Anthony Blinken was the executive director of the Biden UPenn Center. His other job at the time was as a consultant who “helped” universities rake in foreign donations (mostly from the CCP).
“This” is the office where these documents were found.
I want to know if these documents will shed any light on where the Billion dollars in cash flown to Iraq in the middle of the might went. Did Barack Hussein Obama and the Big Guy both get 10% ?
Given the many reports about $54 million given to the “Penn Biden” Center by Chinese Communists, I wonder whether Chinese spies or even Swallwell were ever at this site.
PAYBACK CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH
Trump kept his to prove the attempted coup against him. Biden kept his to hide his and his family’s criminality. Seems to me Trump’s reason is more justified than Biden’s.
I was always checking my person to make sure it was there. And to think these yay-hoos in DC who are never held accountable for the casual way they misuse classified documents.
I want to know how many keys there were for that closet, and who had them.
