i read that one of the ridiculous over-reaches of the EU that infuriated Brits, women in particular, was an edict on vacuum cleaners, which could be sold and used and which ould not. it was a bridge too far for many and helped to lead to Brexit. i feel the same way about this assault on gas stoves: get the heck out of my kitchen.

These folks are truly aiming at a “Hunger Games” type society. (without the games..). Watch those films… THAT’S what they want - to a TEE.

Leftists do not suffer like the middle class from their decisionspolicies

They do not buy the dishwashers and other appliances affected by the EPA

They buy the EPA exempt commercial ones at 5 to 15K a pop.

Think about it! These are the people who want to hold people who lived 200 or more years ago to modern standards. They are destroying our society with these ridiculous charges and tearing down of monuments and statues.

So it’s payback time! Conservatives are blasting her for not using 2022 sensibilities in 2020. It’s the exact same thing the liberals have been doing to the country for years. We are using the liberal playbook to biast them for doing such horrible things as using natural gas to cook just two years ago.

Turn-about is fair play. I love it!

Absolutely! She should be using her new "Sundiner" to cook the family food! She obviously does not care about the environment one bit.

“There is this misconception that if you want to do fine-dining kind of cooking it has to be done on gas,” Trumka said. “It’s a carefully manicured myth.”

Is there ONE fine dining restaurant that has chefs cooking with electricity?

This Trumka bastard should slither back to the netherworld from which he came.

Don't forget, the EU had regulations on how much curve a banana was required to have! There was NOTHING they would not regulate.

We need to decorate lamp posts with Trumka and his ilk.

To Properly Explain The EU's Bendy Bananas Rules: Yes, They're Real, by Tim Worstall, May 12, 2016.

QUALITY STANDARDS FOR BANANAS I. DEFINITION OF PRODUCE

This standard applies to bananas of the varieties (cultivars) of Musa (AAA) spp., Cavendish and Gros Michel subgroups, referred to in Annex II, for supply fresh to the consumer after preparation and packaging. Plantains, bananas intended for industrial processing and fig bananas are not covered.

The power companies have a problem, they have reached peak generation need in their centralized power stations. Blame LEDS, high effecietcy AC and flat screen TVs. Your neighbors will generate more power than residential customers can use from 8am-6pm for between 120 - 320 days per year and the utilities refuse to pay the same rates and give away grid charges when they take instead of when they sell.

Most places are not good for pumped storage of wholesale electric.

They really need to add the baseload of hot water and hot air to become more profitable. Once the visible of stovetops is gone, it will be less shocking to take out gas heat and gas hot water. Electricity is 3x the cost per BTU than electricity delivered at my meter. That the gas “grid” in my area is relatively maintaince free compared to the lines that get ice, trees, and traffic thrown at them daily. My peak heating rate smack in the middle of the Midwest is $5 / day with gas and $15 / day with baseboard. Heat pump might knock that down to $9 / day. It is more a tariff thing as 85% of my electricity is made with NG or Nuclear.

I have alot of a wooded lot, I can heat my house and water with 40-60 hours year of work with a wood furnace and a modest investment, at that point the gas and power company have me as the minumum charge customer. Add a bit of solar, the power company is just my peak/backup provider.

I do note, knowning battery systems, Solar hot water is cheaper than returning it to the grid as there are nearly zero electronics between the panels and the 48V heater elements.
