WARSAW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 10th January, 2023) Poland is asking for the US Congress' help in making Germany agree to paying reparations for the damage inflicted on Warsaw during the Second World War, the Polish government's envoy for reparations, Arkadiusz Mularczyk, said on Tuesday.
Poland has already made the same request to UNESCO, the Council of Europe, and the United Nations, as well as 50 countries, including EU and NATO member states.
"We are counting on the support of our partners from the United States, US legislators, in the issue of Poland receiving compensation for the consequences of the Second World War," Mularczyk told reporters.
Mularczyk added that Warsaw considered the US "a key country when it comes to respecting the international order, human rights, the rule of law, international justice."
Ties between Poland and Germany have been strained by Warsaw's repeated claims to war damages. Warsaw estimates its losses caused by Nazi occupation during the Second World War at 6.2 trillion zlotys ($1.36 trillion). Berlin argues that the Polish government had relinquished all demands for reparations under a renunciation deal signed in 1953.
File a lawsuit, Poland. Leave us out of it.

I could have sworn the Two Plus Four Agreement treaty in 1990 was the final settlement for any WWII reparations claim. Germany doesn’t owe Poland jack, nor should they send them a dime.
I guess there’s no time limit on this. I am going to seek reparations from Sweden, Russia for their aggressions on my Finnish ancestors, and France for aggression against my English ancestors. I can’t get that bad ass William dude from Normandy out of my head. Every thought I have is haunted with that thug. I can’t live in peace.
Poland already got West Prussia and part of East Prussia, Pomerania, Silesia and eastern Brandenburg from Germany. Included in these areas are big cities like Stettin, Danzig and Breslau. Shouldn’t that be more than enough?

Personally, I think it’s been too long, but to that land doesn’t mean jack fkn schit compared to what Germany did in Poland in that war. Most of the big concentration camps were there later, but in the beginning they went into whole cities and wiped out much of the population. It was the reason they invented the gas chambers. They were tired of wasting bullets. How ridiculous is that for genocide??? In the beginning, it wasn’t just the jewish. They were wiping out the Polish middle and upper class.
Also, many of those places that you mentioned that they “got” after the were were heavily polish speaking parts of Germany before the war.

There was no Czechoslovakia by then, it was the Nazi puppet “Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia”. Nazis didn’t care, they knew they’d get it eventually anyway.

If so, it was a deal made by Soviet occupied Poland at a time when the Soviets did not want Soviet occu[ied Eastern Germany to have to pay WWII reparations to Poland.
Poland was excluded from the proceedings of the Inter-Allied Reparations Administration by demand from the Soviet Union. The Allies agreed as part of the Potsdam Agreement, that the Soviet Union collects and distributes the Polish share of reparations. Furthermore, the Soviet Union would extract its share of reparations mostly from the territory in its own occupation zone.
In sum, Poland herself got squat.
Poland should get reparations from Ukraine for Bandera and his boys.
Is it too late to put in my own request for $1.3 trillion dollars reparations? I could really use it
