Almost everywhere in the United States jaywalking might get you a ticket. I say “might” because there is such a thing as officer discretion. It won’t get you arrested and handcuffed. But I suppose these cops were determined to get this poor lady on something. If it wasn’t for jaywalking, it might have been for “disorderly conduct”, or some other such nonsense.

But we mustn’t blame the police here. We must continue to back the blue. Because just like the stooges of fascists everywhere, they were probably just following orders.

Ho ho ho, I’d like to see a traffic cop try issuing a ticket to scores of pedestrians in Manhattan ... :)
