More than one in five drivers believe that the Government should actively be discouraging the use of private cars. An expert claimed many who own cars "don't want to".
Recent findings have revealed that one in five (21 percent) of those surveyed think owning a car is wasteful and should be discouraged by Governments. The research from Bolt looked into what would trigger British car owners aged between 18 and 39 to move away from owning a private car.

Here we go.
An expert claimed many who own cars “don’t want to”???
So sell them...
The Sun has finally sat on the British Empire once and for all.
One of the best days of my life was the day I bought my first car. Eff the commies.
In all fairness, it is a British poll.
Private vehicles = Freedom
Can’t have that now, can we?
Keep importing third world trash and get rid of your private vehicles...genius.
I know I would sure love to take public transportation in the Philly area.
All cultures are equal...
(The scene is in Hell at the annual dinner of the Tempters’ Training College for young devils. The principal, Dr. Slubgob, has just proposed the health of the guests. Screwtape, a very experienced devil, who is the guest of honour, rises to reply:)
"What I want to fix your attention on is the vast, overall movement towards the discrediting, and finally the elimination, of every kind of human excellence – moral, cultural, social, or intellectual. And is it not pretty to notice how “democracy” (in the incantatory sense) is now doing for us the work that was once done by the most ancient Dictatorships, and by the same methods?"
One in 5 is like a majority via new math standards right? 🤡
I don’t like Lima Beans.
I don’t eat them or own them.
No government agency was needed.
If you don’t want a car, don’t buy one.. but don’t tell others they can’t have theirs…
Leftism is evil
Britain is a small country, and they do have an extensive train system that makes it easy to get around the country. Conceivably, you could do fine without a car there for the most part.
The US, however, is a completely different kettle of fish.
Oy! I need the govmint to tell me where to live and where to work and provide transportation to get me there - wait, no... the govmint has to let me work from my house!
The US, however, is a completely different kettle of fish.
= = =
And the Govt want to control even more of the waters.
So even the upstream fish are threatened.
I imagine more girliemen in England. Not owning a car would greatly add to the excuses for not doing something. Owning a car immediately provides choices at all hours of the day and night. If it is pouring rain you can still go to a store, pharmacy, etc without standing in the rain.
79% apparently didn’t go for that.
Well, they drive on the wrong side of the road and their steering wheel is on the wrong side of the dashboard...I don’t blame them...I wouldn’t want those screwed up cars either...
The issue with any form of mass transit is safety.
As a country becomes more third world it gets more dangerous to travel on public conveyances.
