The only ‘late’ night host I could even watch was Craig Ferguson and poof, he decided to quit. No one could do late night like Johnny Carson. That moron Letterman jumped the shark in the mid 2000s making his show completely unwatchable.

Letterman was funny when he followed the Steve Allen mold of comedy.

He did jump the shark and became very bitter, probably after his office affairs and attempted extortion became public.

It seemed to me that he became bitter late in life and his comedy suffered the same way that George Carlin's did after Carlin's first wife died from cancer.

Letterman actually used to be quite funny back in the 80’s on NBC Late Night. But when George W. Bush came along Letterman gave up on comedy and became the prototype for the leftist attack dogs that we have on late night talk shows today.
