When I was in college some many years ago I was married with an infant son and working 35 hours a week while carrying a full credit load in engineering. It was challenging but never fun time. Who started this outrage and absurdity that college should be party time at many thousands a year on taxpayer dime while they teach leftist politics and CRT etc?
We really need to do a deep dive totally open forensic analysis as to what group and demographic is mostly responsible and benefits. The colleges should be made wholly financially responsible for funding and good successful outcomes of their students, not party time. It is unbelievable how this is justified, as are ever increasing tuitions and foolish curricula.
Totally agree. When I taught college part-time on the side of my decades of actual career experience, it was my older students paying their own way who did the best work.
