A Pompeo/DeSantis ticket would be a strong force. Pompeo has the foreign country experience...google him and find out more before you tar and feather him. DeSantis would be a strong supporter of Pompeo.

That’s another reason for Pence to declare, “So help me God” and serve the country by playing kingmaker — leading his evangelical base to support a godly winning candidate not named Trump.

I know white Evangelicals. The authoress does not. He is not their "Kingmaker". They can think for themselves. Notice the authoress of the piece dares not even suggest someone who could actually beat Trump that Pence or Pompeo could anoint.

DeSantis is the only name with ANY traction, and Pence's endorsement would HURT DeSantis, including with the Evangelical Base. DeSantis' best play, if he were to run, would be MAGA policies, but younger, no personal attachment to COVID shots, and more careful picks for Cabinet and staff.

I only scanned the article, however I believe that they both should stay in. I want lots of healthy discussion from lots of corners of our GOP for the primaries before the nom convention.

Pompeo has an outside chance, and at present, he's my second choice.

Pence needs to be there to defend himself. (He's unlikely to succeed, but it will be interesting to see, and interesting to see just who supports him, early on.)
