Last week Congress passed a $1.7 trillion yearlong federal government spending bill – clearing its path to Biden’s desk. This legislation will give millions to the anti-gun movement. Helping Biden spread his legislation. Now we break down what that means for the second amendment headed into 2023.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is set to receive a massive 14.1% budget increase as they will receive nearly $2 billion. This money is what they are saying is necessary to run their day-to-day operations, though it will include $14 million to be used to modernize their illegal gun registry, National Tracing Center (NTC). In addition to the ATF’s budget, there was more than $700 million set aside to help bribe states to pass “Red Flag” gun confiscation laws. Which will only help the ATF with its mission of cracking down on gun owners who do not comply with this unconstitutional gun ban.
The Omnibus will also create multiple VA gun-related measures. “Collaboration on Lethal Means Safety” at the Department of Veterans Affairs will basically encourage VA medical centers to collaborate with state and local law enforcement to adopt “red flag laws.” They would take the guns of Veterans seeking treatment at VA centers, depriving them of their Second Amendment rights without due process. Also, there will be funding for the VA to maintain “gun storage maps” to keep tabs on where Veterans keep their guns. It is supposed to be for suicide prevention, however, it will give the government a direct line of knowing what veterans have in their homes and will likely keep many suffering from mental illness from reaching out in fear that their rights will be stripped.

How? If they ask, lie.
Some people are honest & wouldn’t even think of lying. And this means that family or “others” have an easy means of stripping veterans of their 2A rights.
Ping.
I once told a pediatrician in the practice we used for our child (at the time) that I saw their gun questions (which at some level were being forced on them) as boundary violations. He got a little huffy, I told him they weren’t firearms safety experts, nor pool safety experts, nor household safety experts, they were physicians and should stick to their knitting.
I think that was our last visit there, as the kid was aging out. Probably for the best.
The good people of South Dakota should be livid that both their supposed Republican Senators voted for this mess.
If the government lies to me I am going to lie to them. Eff them.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Everything else is unconstitutional and therefore illegal.
I get asked about guns all the time by medical staff. Usually on a form. I just skip over those questions and leave them blank. I will neither confirm nor deny the presence of firearms in my home. Every medical form ends up in the hands of government. So if they can’t overtly have a gun registry then they subvertly have one though medical questions.
Anything other than “no”, even nothing, goes down as yes.
My kids interview with the doctor went something like this.
“Are there any Firearms in the house?”
“I don’t know. Dad hunts sometimes.”(we live in a red county and EVERYONE hunts.) “I think he borrows one of uncle John’s guns.”
With all I’ve been thru medically in past years and all of the health care professionals I have seen (and there have been many), not once has anyone asked me about guns in the home. They have asked, I think since I am a senior, if I was in an abusive household, or if I was abused in any way, to which I replied “absolutely not”. But nothing about guns.
I expect to be asked that every time I go, but so far nothing.
Good…

Atta boy, Mitch!
I hear you and agree, though they are just words on paper when push comes to shove. Our adversaries are without honor.
No. The Second Amendment will look exactly the same as it does now. The government’s attempt to violate 2nd Amendment rights will be increasing but I don’t think people will be giving up their guns. And, gun rights groups supported by the people will be continuing to fight back against the left’s attempts to violate our rights.
