Breaking: Sen. Stabenow to retire, creating GOP pickup opportunity in Michigan

Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), the chairwoman of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee and a close ally of Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), announced Thursday she is not running for re-election in 2024.

The announcement is a blow to Democrats’ hopes of keeping their Senate majority in 2025 as they face a tough Senate map this cycle.

I think it’s quaint that they think a republican can win the seat. If it was a fair election, maybe. The house needs to get to work! I know this is a senate seat, but right now the entire party is hostage until the speaker is resolved.

Oh my gosh. I spit laughed. Too funny. Don’t put it passed the idiot Republican Party to put him up for the Michigan seat. Wouldn’t shock me. After all, he’s considered a conservative now by many here.

Thaddeus McCotter. John James is a 2 time Senate loser. No way he gives up a safe house seat to go through that same crap. McCotter is an intellectual Libertarian. The seat may be unwinable but at least the message would get out.
