You reading is poor I was calling them clowns, not people on FR.
And they are clowns who are more interested in their personal power & position then they are in governing. Just read the concessions made and to whom.
Whoever does get the title of Speaker will be virtually powerless or at least very weak, with every proposed bill held up to squabbles and bitter bickering.
You guys think its about saving the country, but they have different agendas. They use patriotic rhetoric to hide behind - I’ve watched some of them on TV and they are all word salad when asked hard questions.
My reading is fine. We have a representative republic. My elected leader is doing just as I have requested. Thus, his actions on my behalf are what you refer to as clownish. I am tired of the continuing resolutions followed by the Christmas rush Omnibus budgets.
My Congressman is doing exactly what I and others in his district asked him to do. That is, make changes to the process that Congress has used to avoid passing legitimate budgets and rushing through terrible legislation.
BTW. I don’t want a powerful Speaker. I want my Congressman to be able to add floor amendments to bills rather than having to vote yes/no. This regime doesn’t like that option.
You watch them on TV. That explains everything.
I work in this world, and I know they all have agendas. I know they might shank me in the elevator to advance their careers. And I certainly don’t rely on corporate newstainment to form my opinions. Their request is in line with what I have sought from my Congressman and others for years. Fix the frigging system. Return to a budget process that stops the madness.
