Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis vowed Tuesday in his second inaugural address to fight to defend freedom and stand up against the “woke ideology” that has taken hold in cities and states across the country.
“We seek normalcy, not philosophical lunacy,” Mr. DeSantis said. “We will not allow reality, facts and truth to become optional. We will never surrender to the woke mob.
“Florida is where woke goes to die,” he said.
Mr. DeSantis cruised to victory in the November election, winning by 19 points and leading a GOP lineup that won races up and down the ticket. The 44-year-old is now thought to be laying the groundwork for a presidential run. Polls show he is best positioned to challenge former President Donald Trump for the nomination.
In his second inaugural speech, Mr. DeSantis provided a glimpse into the message he is likely to run on in a White House race, heralding Florida as a success story for the nation and a beacon of hope for freedom-loving Americans.
“Over the past few years, as so many states in our country were grinding our citizens down, we in Florida lifted our people up,” he said. “When other states consigned their people’s freedoms to the dustbin, Florida stood strongly as freedom’s linchpin.”

Speaking of DeSantis, I was thinking: would Trump support Ron if he won the 2024 republican primary? By support, I mean encourage his supporters to get behind DeSantis for the general? Trump's ego comes to mind.
If DeSantis runs for POTUS and is allowed to win that means the Deep State approves of him and he will have been absorbed.

JMO and it may be worthless. But the GOP has its hands full
in trying to defeat Biden if he is alive to run again. If he isn’t
then guess who will be dem nominee? Also don’t rule out Biden
stepping down at some point allowing the VP to step up.

DeSantis turned Florida from purple to Red.
Gas price per gallon was about $2.30;
Inflation about 1.4%, mortgage rates were half of what they are now;
Unemployment was low before Covid and before Blue Governors shut everything down and we were in the midst of a V-shape recovery until January 22, 2021;
Tax decrease; tax laws promoted small businesses as well as large;
US enjoyed energy independence - No Green Agenda, no war on energy, No Paris Treaty;
Trump renegotiated NAFTA and successfully negotiated the USMCA and got it passed by the Senate;
No war in Ukraine, no threat of nuclear war, NATO paid its way;
China was quiet and we were winning the trade war;
US companies were bringing home the jobs due to well executed tax treatments;
Peace in the Middle East aka Abraham Accords; US Embassy moved to Jerusalem; and Iran was isolated;
Got three non-left “I don't know what a woman is” Supreme Court Justices on the bench allowing Roe vs Wade to be overturned;
Massive bureaucratic deregulation; and
Finally, Trump got control of the southern border with clever and successful negotiations with Mexico.
Who the heck can accomplish the above in four years while being impeached twice and investigated by Obama's Weaponized Agencies? Democrats and RINOs (McConnell/McCarthy) support and promote “Americans Last” policies. They are the true “Deplorables”. I am putting you on my “Deplorables” list.

All of which has been reversed and stay reversed if Trump loses again.
