Those of us from the Cold War who remember толкачи tolkachi can see that this is the role he fills in Putin’s world. He bypasses rules, and can talk to the managers and those on the floor.

As long as the system cannot function as it does in normal countries, people like Prigozhin are needed.

I am not sure that Prigozhin is the future of Russia.
His power depends deeply on the Putin’s support.
If Putin goes, Prigozhin may go too!
There are many fractions in the Putin’s Russia.
I am not sure which one will eventually take the power.
Or Putin will rule for long time, until he dies.
