A) 9 GOP Hse mbrs or mbrs-elect sign a letter about McCarthy's offer to make concessions. "Regrettably, however, despite some progress achieved, Mr. McCarthy's statement comes almost impossibly late to address continued deficiencies ahead of the opening of the 118th Congress"
B) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "At this stage, it cannot be a surprise that expressions of vague hopes reflected in far too many of the crucial points still under debate are insufficient."
C) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "This is especially true with respect to Mr. McCarthy’s candidacy for speaker because the times call for radical departure from the status quo — not a continuation of past, and ongoing, Republican failures."
D) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "For someone with a 14-year presence in senior House Republican leadership, Mr. McCarthy bears squarely the burden to correct the dysfunction he now explicitly admits across that long tenure."
E) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "Thus far, there continue to be missing specific commitments with respect to virtually every component of our entreaties, and thus, no means to measure whether promises are kept or broken."
F) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "Mr. McCarthy's statement also continues to propose to restrict the availability of the traditional motion to vacate the chair as a means of holding leadership accountable to its promises"
G) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "We have from the beginning made clear that we will not accept following..Pelosi’s example by insulating leadership..We also note that the statement fails completely to address the issue of leadership working to defeat conservatives in open primaries"
H) 9 GOPers: "The progress made thus far has been helpful and should guide our thinking going forward."
I) 9 GOPers who signed the letter: Perry, Gosar, Roy, Bishop, Harris, Clyde, & Reps-elect Luna, Ogles & Crane.

Why can’t it be Jim Jordan and let’s move on?
Where’s Gaetz name?
In a way it’s just spite. Scalise will be the compromise, but he will be very little different than McCarthy. Same thing happened when Boehner was ditched for Ryan; not much difference, but Boehner was humiliated.
Jordan said a while back he didn’t want the job and was supporting McCarthy.
“We also note that the statement fails completely to address the issue of leadership working to defeat conservatives in open primaries”
This. This this this this this.
The republicans oppose us, and then they get surprised when we oppose them. The 11th commandment has never held when it comes to someone from the GOP Establishment smearing good conservatives, but yet its reasonable to think that these statements will have republicans screaming from the mountain tops that the 11th commandment is being violated by us conservatives and all we’re actually doing is pointing out the facts of their poor record. Enough is enough.
The establishment has failed. We need a truly conservative party for a change. Time to pack it up and go home.
There idiots.
At the end of the day, with the budget set for the next year, what is anyone expecting from this crew?
They have a very slim majority. How many just voted for the omnibus?
Emmer is supposedly funded by Soros and may as well be a Democrat.
Biden has said he won’t cooperate with them, on anything.
Any investigations will be done half-assed and strung out until some crisis and then put on the eternal back burner while they address “more important issues”.
Pretty much, every single one of them is a joke, save a few, and they confused to get re-elected so they can keep screwing us over.
“less tied to the dysfunction which has existed for so long.”
The dysfunction is the whole point. We look at it as dysfunction. They look at it as the best way to keep power and dispense money to their friends.
Maybe they should just stay home for the rest of the year and leave US alone...Take the IRS with them too.
The need to give us at least an illusion that something is being done even if it is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
I’m thinking Andy Biggs of AZ won’t be voting for for McCarthy either. Perhaps Debbie Lesko too.
Good for Paul Gosar, my current Congressman, and Eli Crane, my next Congressman.
Hahah, he’s being completely played. This is what thr GOPe pukes could have been doing to Rats for a decade and yet chose not to. This all represents exhibit A as to why he’s really not fit to lead. He’ll be a weak leader but he’ll probably get in.
Kevin needs to give in.
They should put up Tulsi.. maybe pull in a few Rats and send a real message to the Repukes running the show
With a 1:1 correlation with the downward trajectory of the country.
Not a single Republican will vote for a D Speaker. Ergo, it will not happen.
Every one on that list is a scumbag of the highest degree.
If he can’t herd the cats, he’s wasting everyone’s time. Step down and find someone that can.
McCarthy didn’t do anything to deserve this besides remove Liz Cheney from a Chair position.
Like they always say..... “for the good of the Party”, it’s time for McCarthy to “step aside”.
